The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) was created to set standards for fire safety. The NFPA standard regarding Technical Rescue is NFPA 1670. The professional qualification for individual techincal skills is NFPA 1006.

Texas Rope Rescue works with the "authority having jusrisdiction" to create a curriculum based on NFPA 1670. At the same time, all classes are custom built to suit the needs of the company or organization and build the individual skills per NFPA 1006 (General Rescuer, Level 1, Level 2).
